Well, you know how we are true Dr. Laura fans (well, most of the time anyway)... Kim & I decided to take mom on THE Dr. Laura cruise for her 70th birthday. It was awesome! We flew into Vancouver, went to Victoria and to Butchart Gardens, then had a couple of sea days and ended up in San Diego. It was a short, but really fun, 4 day cruise. 
It was good to spend some "girl time" away from hubbies & kids. We got a lot of R&R (except for the really BAD sea day where we all got sick - thank goodness for modern day medicine!)
and the best part was that Mom was TOTALLY surprised! We told her we were taking her to Mexico so she needed to bring her passport... she didn't know where we were going until we got to the airport!
